When he receives a journal sent halfway around the world from his greatest enemy, Dimitri's first instinct is to destroy it without reading a single word. Only the small notebook weighs heavy in his hand, and the henchman sent to deliver it has offered to wait until he has read every word in a way that makes reading not seem like an option.
It is filled with a letter from an old acquaintance, one he had done his best to scrub his life free of, and every page tells him to stay away. Five years of distance gave him a lot of understanding, though, and he must decide if the hatred he held in his heart is worth the life of another.
