Disgruntled, I quietly asked, "Did you come from the future or not?"
"'Come from the future?'" 11th grader Luke Huang repeated, but it sounded more like a question than a statement.
"Yeah," I said like it was the most obvious thing. "You know, Griffon Performing Arts, the preparations for the performance, then the black out?" Luke had a blank face on. "Does any of this ring a bell?" Luke's expression didn't change. "You've got to be kidding me! I can't be stuck in the past with just Wyatt! And we don't even know if Jessica's here or not!" No, no, no, Angelina, stay calm... You and Wyatt will find a way back to the present (well future?), don't worry about it. Maybe, if I keep telling myself, I'll believe it.

{BOOK ONE} There are five factions. Each had their own reasoning for thinking why the war had happened. Dauntless; cowardice and fear. They strive to be brave, fearless. Erudite; ignorance. They strive for intellect, to be smart and curious. Candor; deception. They strive to be honest. Amity; they blamed the war itself along with fighting. They strive to be kind, forgiving, peaceful. Abnegation; selfishness. So they strive to be selfless. Dauntless are our police. Erudite are our teachers. Candor is the law. Amity are the farmers. And Abnegation are our government. I would sit on the ground everyday, wearing my yellow dress with black sandals. Wasn't the best thing for me. Dresses made my shoulders to broad, especially the flowing ones. When I was home alone, or with my mother, I would wear I tight black shirt and white shorts. No one would really approve, mostly because they were Candor colours along with the fact it's not... welcoming enough. I never understood Amity, not because of the kindness and the peacefulness; well, mostly the peacefulness. Whenever it should come down to defending ourselves or walking away. We walked away. It confused me. Maybe I wasn't Amity enough to understand. Maybe I wasn't kind enough. Maybe, just maybe, I didn't belong here. So where do I belong? Life is panning out exactly how I expected it to. I made it to high school. I'm a teenager. I don't have any of the partying and spring break memories I'd hoped for, but it's not bad. I've even sort of assembled a plan for what I want to do after school. And then out of nowhere this boy comes into my life, and it's like gravity shifted my entire world upside down.
