Six girls.

One Alpha King.

For centuries it has been that on the King's twentieth birthday, six unmated girls would be taken to the castle, weather by will or by force. There the six would take place in a series of tests. The strongest, most cunning and graceful, would be crowned as the mate of the King.

So what happens when a sort of old magic kicks in? True mates were thought to be lost, but it seems as though the Alpha King is in for a big surprise.

"Stop shocking me, Witch!"

"You think I did that on purpose? You are more stupid than you look!"

"Stupid? I could have you thrown in the dungeons for that!"

"Then go ahead! Or are you to much of a coward?"

I was signing my death warrant as we spoke. I shouldn't be talking to the King like I was, if anything I was the one being stupid.

"You are an infuriating woman! If you weren't one of the six if have your head on a stake!"

I had to admit that last one hurt, but it didn't stop my next remark.

"Oh joy don't let that stop you!"

With a growl he grabbed my wrist yanking me forward, into his sculpted chest.

"No. I have a better idea to shut you up."

With that he swooped down and pressed his soft lips against mine.

Damn they were better than I had imagined.

It was official- I was hooked...
