He isn't known to get close to anyone other than Hazel, Reyna, and maybe the other 7. Or at least that's what Rick thinks. I personally got the inside scoop on the guy that Rick missed. A lot of people miss him though, so I'm not surprised. He isn't well known, just like his mother Dike*, even if he might be the most powerful child of Dike in history. This is Valen's story, from start to 'finish'.
*Existing in the underworld realm, Dike personified justice through retribution (punishment inflicted on someone as vengeance for a wrong or criminal act). According to Hesiod, Dike was one of the three Charites (or graces), daughter of Zeus and Themis.
Dike is linked with the ancient greek custom of persecution of the guilty, either by the community or by the victim's family. Her assistants were the Furies.
Could be seen as the personification of Karma.
Also seen as the spirit of moral order and fair judgement.
Is about bringing down the cruel, not helping out the hurt.
(e.x: man rapes a girl ; Dike makes sure he gets his ass kicked later.
Girl gets raped ; Dike does nothing for her)
