Ishrah, Codal, Shranah, and Agral. The four solitary realms. For as long as anyone could remember they had been at war with each other. Each country had their army. The armies that only accepted those with that country's power. The ones with power were always born with a tattoo at the base of their necks that designated them. Each country had a different color that corresponded with their power. Ishrah, air, had a glimmering silver tattoo to represent how air is always moving. Codal, earth, a deep forest green to represent their want for peace. Sharanah, fire, was a rich red as to represent their heat and the need for blood. Agral, water, had a deep ocean blue as to represent their soothing nature and their wisdom. Each tattoo was in the shape of a star. they were constantly invading each other so there was no question as to how, but, as a prophecy once told, 'The year of the darkest light, the four shall be born'. The prophesied hybrids were born without a tattoo, but later in their lives two different colored halves formed. Only these four united could stop this war. Each will have difficulties. Some will wish to give up, but all know the price of failure. Each one of them know just how different they are, but none of them know to what extent their powers reach.

Gwyneth had always felt connected to her faith, a higher power presiding over her. That faith had shaken that devastating day those years ago, the day that went on to haunt her every nightmare for years to come. She's still trying to come back from it, to not only restore her faith in life and love, but her faith in herself. The sanctity of her spirit- she prayed for resolve. Every punch was a prayer. Every mile was a hymn. Until her knuckles bled and her knees gave. Azriel had been surrounded by darkness his whole life, a poison on his world, on his being. He exercised restraint in his every waking moment, banishing that darkness within himself. Some guessed of the strain it put on him, but no one knew the extent of it, how deep his scars ran. It was better this way, he was sure. He had always thought that if there were a higher power- which he wholly doubted- such deities must loathe him to have burdened him such darkness. He hadn't much faith in the gods anyway, much less faith that he could sway their opinion on him. But Gwyneth and Azriel did have one thing in common: the quiet fight within themselves. They only knew one way: to go about it alone, couldn't fathom letting another in. But there's a magic in finding someone who is your equal but opposite, something transforming. And frankly, Gwyneth and Azriel could both use a little magic. All characters owned by SJM in the ACOTAR series. Story takes place after the events of ACOSF. Aligns with the events in my other fic: A Storm of Flames and Deceit. I haven't finished Crescent City, so this story takes place outside of the events of those books as well. If the Courts cannot band together and summon their remaining allies in time, all will be lost. Seren isn't willing to see that happen, and she will do whatever she can to aid her family in their fight to save Prythian. Disclaimer: I do not own the ACOTAR series or the characters and places therein. I take credit only for this story and my original characters. This story takes place two years after A Court of Silver Flames. Most of the artwork used in this story was found on Pinterest. Warning: This book, while being a work of fiction, still deals with real elements. There will be chapters dealing with abuse, depression, gore, PTSD, and other topics which some might find triggering. *Set many years after ACOSF* (Nyx x OC) Belladonna Haven doesn't belong anywhere. She didn't belong in her family house with her abusive father and she didn't belong anywhere after her and her mother escaped. They would all stare at her gloved hands and wonder what secrets Bella was hiding. Her mother always told her three things. 1. Keep running 2. Never take the gloves off 3. Only steal from the wealthy Of course Bella was curious. So one day, she broke the most important rule... and regretted it ever since. Years later, she's still on the run, still keeping her gloves on, and still stealing from the wealthy. Unfortunately for her, she stole from the wrong kind of wealthy. Unfortunately for them, she was completely open to the idea of breaking rule number two. - Also: In this story I'm assuming that Gwyn and Azriel are mates. It won't affect the story too much, just a heads up for those who don't approve. - Rankings: #1 in Rhysand (May 2021) #1 in acotar (May-June 2021) #1 in Nyx (May-June 2021) #1 in Azriel (May 2021) #1 in Feyre (June 2021)
