Celia has lived on an island with her parents for her entire life. Shortly after her parents die from a poisonous spider bite she found a strange boy washed up on shore. He could not remember anything before he woke up and Celia let him stay with her. Four years later when they where both twelve a boat appeared that had set out to find shipwrecked people. He reveal that the boy Celia had found four years ago was really Prince Nicholas of Treseal. Once on the mainland Celia and Nick where separated and Celia was sent to an orphanage. Nick was returned to the family he didn't remember to resume the life he didn't know he had.
