Picture this: If you're 13 years old, on May 24 a tattoo will appear on your wrist with the date of your death. 
No one questions it. The dates that appear are 100% accurate. You die when you reach the date on your wrist. 
But when Rachael's mom mysteriously disappears , she questions everything. Her dad and their loved ones tell Rachael she died from a car accident, but Rachael doesn't believe that. Rachael thinks her moms disappearance has something to do with the creator of the tattoos.
But something unusual happens with Rachael's tattoo, which causes the creator to to come pay a visit to  Punrith.

Before I even give a description I need to say one thing: This story is something I wrote to give all my friends as a Christmas present, but I didn't do what most people would. What I did was I wrote each friend a different ending. There are 21 different endings to this one story. The first-I think-ten parts-the ones that are pretty much titled by seemingly random number-are the same in all of the versions of the story. After that I just have the extra endings. I know--it's confusing. Deyanira was born with a tattoo all the way up her right arm that clearly showed "140256:00:00." Little did she know that this "tattoo" was a countdown to the end of the world-the end that she would cause. The marking changed each second as the bomb that was Deyanira ticked just a second closer to destruction. On Deyanira's fifteenth birthday, she meets the ghost of Zaviera, the timebomb of planet Abiit, who has come to warn her that the bomb will go off when she turns exactly sixteen years old. Deyanira and her friends Lieta, Aubrey and Andy now have only one year to save the world.

Some could be a star, a flower, a yinyang, a fish, or even waves. There are so many people that the symbols are almost limitless. The tattoos don't care about gender or number. There could be gay matches, and there could even be polyamorous matches. The tattoos will tingle when you are near to your sm. And they will glow if you have found only one of your sm's if your match was poly. The trick is, you don't get the tattoo until you are 16. And even if you are near your match, as long as one of you are not of age, your tattoo will not tingle. Also, they are normal tattoos (except you don't get it or choose it, it just appears) so you can get rid of it. But if you do, your sm won't die but they will get very sick. The main characters of this story, Violet West (18) and Harper Black (20), both have a flame tattoo on their cheek. They live in the same state but for 4 years Harper paniced because she couldn't find her match. She wasn't sure if it was because her sm wasn't of age yet or if her sm lived far away. For 2 years Violet also paniced but she knew that some people don't find their sm for 5-10 years after they come of age, so she wasn't as scared as Harper.
