Preacher's daughter and Alabama native Grace Baxter has never really felt like she belonged. Sure, she has good friends and sure, people generally like her, but she's always felt like somewhat of an outsider. On the track to graduating second in her class and heading to the University of Alabama on a full-ride scholarship in the fall, Grace is ready to begin a new chapter.

Enter New York State native Todd Rockefeller, who Grace quickly realizes is going to completely derail her plans to get out of Auburn as quickly and quietly as possible.

When Grace and Todd first cross paths, they immediately have a distaste for each other. She thinks he's a jerk with no future and he thinks she's a prude with a superiority complex. However, one night changes that and suddenly Grace finds herself falling for the boy who everyone has written off as a loser, despite her strict father prohibiting her from seeing him.

And although she's about 98% sure that getting involved with Todd will only result in headache and heartbreak, Grace decides to take a leap of faith and hopes with everything she has that he catches her.
