I Give Up is a short imaginative monologue from the perspective of Newt from James Dashner's "The Maze Runner" book series. It was created for a presenting assignment I had to do. I thought it was pretty good so i'll share it with you all. Bare in mind that this is my own interpretation of there characters thoughts and feeling and I in no way take ownership of the character "Newt". I have not read the last book so please, if something is wrong or out of place, thats why. I tried my best i'm sorry. This monologue is set somewhere in between "The Scorch Trials" and "The Death Cure" I hope you enjoy.

Everything was dark... probably because my eyes were closed. All around me I heard the rattle of chains, wait am I moving? I slowly open my eyes and look around. I see kids just like me chained to chairs. What happened? Why am I here? My head throbs as I try to remember. Y/n wakes up on the WICKED train that Thomas, Newt, and other allies take back to their base. The Labyrinth (1): She arrived with no warning. Only what she can piece together in her mind can she survive the Maze and it's inhabitants. 'You don't belong here.' 'Get out!' I winced in pain. The boys roared with laughter, distracting themselves at my amusement. I scrambled back. The words setting me on fire. I didn't give them a chance to react. I forced myself up from the floor and sprinted away. I hadn't thought further ahead then go. I hadn't thought of a direction to go, let alone where an exit would be. Inception: A Newtmas Fanfiction
[EDIT 1] My work is currently undergoing some revisions. I wrote this 5 years ago, and needless to say, some of the dialogue, scenes, wording, and overall feel is quite childish. Not all of it, but some of it. I've decided to revisit my original first story and make it better.
