"Here." He says as he hands me a brown bottle of beer. I take it reluctantly and take a swig of the liquid. "So tell mee, why didn't you take the opportunity when given?" I ask. He leans against the wall and takes out a cigarette. He lights it up and takes a puff. "Listen kid. This is gang city. This is place where your dreams don't come true. This is the place where you want to be if you've got nothing to look forward to in your life. Now, let's say if I were to take that opportunity as a artist. They'd throw me out knowing I'm a gang member and I'll just come scurrying over here like a dumb mouse. Nobody's gonna want me after that." He says. I give him a smile and take another slurp of my beer. "Well, I can promise ya one thing." I say. "What's that?" He replies. "I ain't never leavin yo side." I say.
