Full Of Surprises [One Direction Fanfic]

I opened my eyes, and rubbed them. I sat up, and let out a yawn. I squinted through the darkness and at my clock. 2:53.

Why is there shouting downstairs at three in the morning? I thought it was only Dad, Mum, Liam, and I?

I crawled out of bed and opened my door. I slowly made my way downstairs, hearing someone yelling and crying. I was only 13, I didn't really know what was going on.

I stepped down the last step, holding onto the railing. I looked around the barley lit living room. My older brother Liam, who's 15, was wrapped in my older sister Ruth's arms, who's 19. Nicola, my other sister, who's 18, was yelling at two policemen.

"What's going on? I'm trying to sleep," I said, through a yawn. Liam pulled away from Ruth, and Nicola threw her arms up in frustration. My older siblings all had red rimmed eyes, or tears down their cheeks.

Liam made his way over to me, and softly gripped my shoulders. "Mum and Dad got into a car accident while they were on their way home from their date," He said softly. I laughed a little.

"But they're okay. I mean, they have to be okay," I said. Liam, Ruth, and Nicola shared a look. I frowned, and felt tears gather in my eyes. "Liam, please tell me they're okay. That you're just joking," I pleaded.

He shook his head, a tear falling down his cheek. "They didn't make it, Em," He said. I wrapped my arms around his shoulders and buried my face in the crook of his neck. I cried, and cried, and cried.

They're gone.
