Everyone has monster under their beds, something that has us always wanting to have a little light on, no matter what our age is. The Doctor even has one, that means Loki does, too. And according to Loki, it was the Frost Giants, same as with all of Asgard. But now, he knows he is a Frost Giant. That logically means that the monster is an Aesir. But not any Aesir, the king, Odin. And for good reason, with his childhood and Odin's "punishments."
Loki is struggling with dealing with the monster under his bed and the voices in his head. After Odin gives another one his "just punishments," Thor brings him back to Earth. By this time, Bruce, Clint, and Tony have done research into the Norse legends, trying to figure out why Loki tried to concur Earth. So, when Loki is brought to Earth again, they decide to get him a therapist. Well, actually, they force him to see the therapist. Most of the Avengers see her at the insistence of Fury. The therapist is actually Clint's 27 year-old sister, who is 8 years older than her. Her name is Nadya.
This was inspired by the song "The Monster" by Eminem feat. Rihanna. It takes place just after Avengers and disregards anything after Captain America: Winter Soldier. There are no pairings yet, but that may change.
