Merlin is dying and with him goes his final spell; the cloaking of every magical creature in the known world. As the ancient wizard's power fades, every magical creature imaginable begin to lose their human form and become exposed.
Tomius and Arabel are still at school but little do they know they've just had their last ever lesson. Their parents are also cloaked within Merlin's spell, and as it becomes clear that something more than human blood flows in their veins, they must cope with the sudden unveiling of magic in the world, dark and light.
