Until little October tips the boat over and finds herself sent to live in Pecan Valley with her cousin Arizona for reasons that leave the rest of the town in confusion. Desperate for a way to support herself once she arrives to the eerily familiar town, October meets with the owner of the town's most popular eatery and feels her world shift once again.

Sterling Young used to be the bad boy of Pecan Valley, until the death of his parents at age eighteen leaves him the sole guardian of a rambunctious five year old and a third generation family restaurant. Now, nearly eleven years later he's running two thriving business, maneuvering around a moody teenager and dodging the women his best friend's mother sends his way -- after all he's got too much on his plate to be trying to date. Jessie White stands out from the crowd. As a Southern woman, she defies the typical expectations. While others her age are embarking on new careers, Jessie's upbringing on a ranch alongside four brothers equipped her with skills many would balk at. She's adept at horseback riding, calving, stall cleaning, and more. Fiercely independent, Jessie refuses to rely on any man, a resolve hardened after heartbreak at the hands of Max Lane, a rancher's son, two years prior. Jessie has resolved to take up bull riding, a skill that appears to be a family legacy. Her lifelong dream has been to ride a bull before an audience, but now, her ambition has shifted to rescuing the White Family Ranch after a substantial portion of their funds vanished and debts began accumulating. Max Lane's family is eager to buy the White Family Ranch, but Jessie refuses to let him take away the one thing that sustains her. Being a beauty bartender owner and a female bull rider makes things challenging. Everyone says she can't do it because she's a woman, but Jessie is determined to prove them all wrong. Initially skeptical, Trace Black doesn't recognize her potential until he witnesses her mount a bull for the first time. Although he may appear arrogant externally, that pales in comparison to his internal complexity. Trace and Jessie are initially oblivious to their chemistry, though it's evident to everyone around them. As Jessie gathers the courage to express her feelings to Trace, the things she dreads occur. However, it doesn't make matters worse; it alters everything profoundly. *WARNING* Book contains language, child loss, trauma, etc. Thank you for choosing my story! HOLLY'S BOYS

75 parts Complete

It's the 70s, The Me Decade, and over-privileged Raynor Davison is all about the me in that phrase. And why not? Guys want to be him and girls wait in line just to do his homework. From elementary on, Raynor's used that innate charm and good looks to keep his embarrassing secret hidden-he reads on a Dick and Jane level. Unfortunately, it's his irresistible appeal and golden-boy status that galls Holly, the girl assigned to be his tutor. Holly Galloway has no time for boys. The tutoring job is a means to an end. But when she learns Raynor can't read, she almost falls for the charismatic smooth-talker. Holly has plans, though, and they don't include being the object of a love triangle involving Raynor and the boy across the street. So Holly makes another choice, one that leaves her alone and ashamed at a time in history not so kind to vulnerable young women. Raynor never intended to fall for the girl from the wrong side of the tracks, and he certainly never expected her to shoot him down. But when Holly gets into trouble, no one is more surprised than he is when he sacrifices his reputation to save Holly from the gossips of their judgmental hometown.
