I took this story idea from Inkheart and The Sword of The Stranger.

It's about an only child named Lao, who has what they call, "The blood of kings". It's royal blood. They say, if you drink it, you can become immortal. The Gathering (a form of government), therefore is protecting her. There are two books to this series. The Regret will come out soon after this. Anyway, Lao is met by a strange boy who has, or he claims, to have the power to jump into a book of his choosing. In doing so, he warns Lao that the person she would take a strike for, is behind the blade...
