Meet Ma'Ree. A fine piece of dark chocolate. Pretty as she can get, but she's not up to standard.
What standards you may ask, well the acceptance standards.
At her school, Oakwood High, she is constantly bullied because of her skin tone. Everyone else at her school is either light skinned, or white, but not Ma'Ree.
Her best friend, Isaiah, tells her that she is beautiful, his dark skinned beauty, but she doesn't believe him. She just think she's ugly, and does not belong.
Will Ma'Ree ever see that she is beautiful?
Will she finally feel like she belongs?
