"How tall are you?" he asks randomly.
I look up at him and narrow my eyes. "Why?"
He shrugs. "Just curious."
"Well, that's a personal question. You don't just ask vertically challenged people how tall they are. That's like me asking you how much you weigh or something."
"Is that you're way of saying I'm fat?" He asks, raising an eyebrow at me. I choose not to answer. That way I don't have to lie to him.

Bailey Grace Bruskin, miniature teenage emotional tornado. Yep, that's a good way to describe her. She's an animal activist, overly defiant (to some people), and she loves to write poetry. One day, she meets Owen Corazzini when he inadvertently breaks her nose. At least, Bailey says he did, though it might have been mostly her fault.

Bailey, her two best friends Eden and Theo, and newcomer Owen all go on a journey together, finding family, newfound friendships, and maybe even love along the way.

Hunting the Fairy Tale by MaggieOHighley

This story is my happy place; I do not plan on ever finishing it. It will go on and on like a soapie. Might break it up into volumes later. "Grab a bunch of broken misfits, chuck them in a tribe, add some glitter and loads of weird-as garbage, voila, you've got yourself a fairy tale... kinda... just... you know... minus the fairies..." Paisley Davenport ♫ When Willow Mayfair's life falls apart, her mother brings her to Briar Cove, the small coastal town where she grew up. Living with Rebecca's childhood friend, a new world filled with love, excitement, and friendship opens up for both of them. For everybody who also dreams of a fairy tale and won't care if the "knights" were a little dirty. Genre: Slice of Life/Romance/Humour This is a slow-burn journey through love and life, filled with an array of beloved characters, their sad moments, happy moments and a multitude of bat-sh#t crazy moments. P.S.: This is not a fairy tale... Thank you: Micaela, for helping the characters take on a life of their own and encouraging me to keep on writing. Phillo, for not minding reading girly stories... if it's to help your mom. Jeandré, your weird-as sense of humour and quirky feedback inspires me and keeps me going. ♫ This is a work of fiction. Any names or characters, businesses or places, events or incidents are fictitious. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental. 8th Grade Poems, To and From

88 parts Complete

Another collection of poems from 8th-grade minds! These poems conclude our personal struggles, ups and downs, and friendships (with one another and others) throughout this year. We hope you enjoy and find special meaning for yourself in these poems. May you know that you are not alone and be helped if you are having a difficult year! Also, some of these poems are to each other (there are some that form a "mini poem series," if you will, but it's not stated if they continue each other), some are to other people, and others are just... by themselves. While some of these were inspired by someone, to someone, or about someone, all of these were important to us and have a special meaning. Most were about ourselves and our personal experiences, though. May you LOVE, and STAY with your KINDred!
