My parents were murdered. I look down upon their headstones, devastated. A light rain has begun. I know I cannot stay long. A guard checks these headstones every five minutes. A single tear slips from my eye. I glance over my shoulder, waiting to be surrounded by the military police. I'm not. I walk away slowly, calming the infant in my arms. I leave to do what I do best. Run.

I apply pressure to the bullet hole. The pain nearly causes me to grow numb. Darren scoops me up into his arms as he tries to avoid sudden danger. His cautious movements are for my benefit. I gasp at the sudden pain. My heart pumps faster. Adrenaline kicking in. "Hold on, Autumn." I look up at his face. I never would've thought I'd actually care for him. Darren and I only teamed up because we were running from the same person. My father. When things quiet down around us, he lays me down on the ground. "Autumn, look at me. Please." The anguish is clear in his voice. I'm sure he feels the same way about me. The surprise of two strangers caring for one another. I look up at him with hooded eyes. He smiles weakly. "Hi." "Hey." I croak. He rips the bottom of my shirt and uses it to help apply pressure. It's soaked instantly. "I can't believe that son of a bitch--" He looks at me. "I can't believe he shot you." "He didn't shoot me." I try to sit up, flinching at the pull of my side. "The guard did. He didn't know who I was." Darren clenches his jaw. "You're losing a lot of blood." I force a laugh. "I guess it's a good thing that I'm a fighter." His eyebrows draw closer together. I wanted to say something to easy his concern, but words lodge in my throat, causing me to sputter. It feels like I'm choking. Desperately trying to catch my breath. "Autumn? Autumn!" I try to say his name among my coughing fits, but blackness grabs me with its cold merciless hands before I can get a word out... That moment when you have to learn to accept yourself, but you don't even know who you are. Your reality is shattered. And everything you thought was real, becomes the opposite. (Inspired by a dream)

She felt his surprise. She felt his light extinguish as he died. Then there was nothing. Nothing. Her head was swimming like it was underwater. She couldn't move. She couldn't move. Her vision blurred, a man was speaking but she couldn't hear his words. She felt the sword in her chest, but it wasn't there. He killed him. He killed him. Breathe. Did she stop? Breathe. The man, she could hear him speaking. What was he saying? Breathe. She inhaled a deep breath. And another. Then another. Things started to clear. "Breathe. That's right," the warrior coaxed. She started to take another settling breath, and his face came more into focus. The first thing she noticed was his piercing green eyes. She had never seen eyes quite like that before. She stared into them, mesmerized. He mimicked a breath and she took it with him. She was coming back. "I will not hurt you," the man kneeling before her promised. Anna knew better than to believe him. What was it he had said? Oh. "You...you said...you said 'no witnesses'." She was shaking violently. She took another deep breath. "Ah, " he uttered in acknowledgment. "You are not a witness, you are the treasure

Tears threatened to spill out from my eyes as I looked at my reflection in the mirror. DEVASTATED and BETRAYED. Suddenly, the door of the room opened and slammed shut. I looked at his reflection from the mirror and wiped off my tears hurriedly before shoving the card inside one of the drawers, not wanting him to know about it. He came and hugged me from behind resting his chin on my shoulder. Reality dawned upon me and fear crawled up on each and every ounce of my skin. Sweat buds formed on my forehead and neck as I looked at him staring at me intensely from the mirror. His gaze was filled with desire. He turned me towards him by holding my waist gently and sealed our lips in a soft and gentle kiss. I closed my eyes trying to hold back my tears which were ready to spill out anytime feeling disgusted with his touch. At that moment of helplessness, all I was praying to God was 'please god let it be a dream where I'll wake up beside the love of my life, my Rann' but the saddest reality is it's not. "My Rann is a ruthless killer. He is a Devil with whom I got married."

"S-s-ahaj. S-stop. You are crossing your limits!" My voice was shaking, but I tried my best. He leaned forward which made me shift on my toes. He dangerously cleared his throat and said. "Am I crossing my limits !! Babygirl you rule my whole world but that doesn't mean that now you'll tell me my LIMITS" He put pressure on the word 'limits'. He continued after a pause. "do you wanna see me crossing my limits?" I gulped and said. "Sahaj, enough now stop I don't know what you are talking about" After intense and dangerous eye contact he said. "Well, now shut the fuck up and take off your clothes or you wanna see me crossing my limits and ripping the fucking clothes off your body!!" I was able to feel the wetness bubbling in my core. Certainly they could trust that those in power ultimately had the best interests of the people in mind, right? ~~~ Luna slouched low in her seat, staring at droplets of water that ran diagonally down the window of the bus. The sky was a flat, depressing grey and the incessant, soaking rain left her constantly chilled. It was a typical "liquid sunshine" day in the Pacific Northwest. They drove past a single tall scraggly tree on top of a hill shrouded in mist. The creepy tree was full of screaming crows. How could she hear them from inside the bus when she couldn't even seem to hear the voices of the kids around her? Geez, that was an awfully freaking dark image. She shivered and looked away. What did they call a group of crows again? Right, a murder of crows. Perfect. The weather was certainly the only thing that was typical these days, although you'd never know it by looking around the bus at most of the kids as they sat joking and gossiping with each other just like they had before... before that day everything had changed. Idiots.
