Let's take a year long trip into the life of Malachai Vanstern as he begins his life in New York City. Striving to become a great artist, he is leaning on the help of his father, a stern businessman with odd ideas. In return for a free duplex in the History District of New York, Malachai must adopt and care for two dogs from a shelter. Between caring for the dogs, painting and trying to mend some deep seeded family problems, Malachai is not sure where he is going to find the time to deal with his confusing love life.
With many choices in his future, how will Mal complete the previous resolutions he had in mind? Will he make it in the world of Artwork? Will he figure out this confusing relationship with Jake and Aubrey? Can he keep these dogs alive?

This is a collection of short stories centered around soulmates. Each story has its own characters, with their own conflicts, romances, hopes, and dreams.
