"Do you know why I was transferred to this school?"

"No..."

"Because ISH is a school for heroes," Midas said. "But I'm not a hero-"

"-I'm a villain."

Cherokee North High has never seen anything like former superhero-in-training Midas Aldridge. He wears a mask and costume to school, insists he's a villain and possesses an explosive power that keeps everyone on edge.

Midas has never seen anything like Sam Wilson, a superhero obsessed student who constantly badgers him for his autograph.

And nobody has ever seen anything like the club Sam helps Midas start, a club whose members are all unique and determined in their own ways, even determined enough to break into the International School of Heroes.

She opened her eyes, watching intently as the heroes slowly crowded on the rooftop around her. The moon illuminated their serious masked faces and flashy suits, giving Neera the opportunity to figure out what powers they might possess. She kept her eyes halfway closed and studied them. Most of the suits were at least 75% black. One hero stuck out in her blue suit. It had no black on it. Neera was wary of the color of her suit. /How did I end up here?/ One of the heroes had surprised her with a lucky hit almost a minute ago. She had felt the impact and acted on it, diving to the ground. She had a better fighting chance against the six when they were caught off guard.
