Frankly he's been holding back in school in order to stay in his age grouping. But now his life is about change. He's been assigned to find some "things" around the city. If he does, he gets what was taken from him back.
(Disclaimer: I do not own the cover art, it is from the anime A Lost Village and happens to be my favorite character named Jack, although this character is not based off of him or else he would act very differently. I merely captioned it.)
