At the age of ten, Sacrifices are selected to participate in an annual series of events called "Sacrifices" until they reach the age of twenty-six. For Snow, that isn't an option. Tired of the life she's living, she barely manages to escape after an announcement that makes Sacrifices a monthly occurrence. Saved by Rebels who wish to overthrow the Government and make it anew, Snow finds herself in the middle of their plans. There's just one problem: her Sacrifice cuffs won't come off, and are hindering her newly discovered powers. With a Wolf pack at her command, she strives to help them with their goal. Things aren't quite so easy: her mother's out to get her, her brother is built to be her rival, and her cuffs make her vulnerable to the Warriors that patrol the Country.
