It's 1942 in Germany and for some reason, the clouds seem to swell. So begins the story of a fifteen-year-old girl, Charlotte Hamati, who is forced into hiding when her family is found to be unsuitable for the future plans of Germany. She and her brother Joshua must sneak quietly through the next three years, living with family friends. They are quiet. They are careful. They are nobodies and they are good at it.
