Felix Chambers used to be little more than a scrawny little human. When a demon attacked him one fateful night, however, he accidentally did something long thought impossible: he bound his soul to it. In doing so, he became a half-demon. Having suddenly gone from noble sweetheart to dangerous monstrosity, he was lucky enough to be spared and taken in by a retired paladin who pitied him. Under her he trained, dreaming of the day he could get rid of the demon within him and return to his family.

However, whispers of a fragmented prophecy got in the way. Unlike most, which predict either certain doom or destruction, this one tells of a decisive battle that will take place...but not its outcome. Should Felix's human half win over, the world will be granted salvation and peace. If his demon half takes over, the world will spiral into destruction. Not very many people are willing to watch Felix stay alive long enough to find out which will occur. Felix's very existence grows riskier and riskier by the day, but he is determined to prove to the world that he can conquer the evil within him.

"The wolf desires to kill us before the demons even have a chance," Lily muttered beside me. My eyes flickered from the Crusader standing before us to his dire wolf. The beast wove through the mass of recruits, salivating, his silver eyes roving over each one like we were to be his next meal. "The second trial is upon us," thundered Desmond Castiel, his fingertips crackling with impatient flames. "I won't repeat myself again. Refrain from making eye contact with the demons, and do not be foolish enough to converse with them." His narrowed eyes settled on me, a warning glinting in their depths. I shrank further into my cloak. "Our purpose here is to hunt. Should you attempt to flee, the horde will surely tear you apart, ribbon by ribbon. Fear will lead to your demise unless you wield your faith as the armor it is. Am I making myself clear?" Omen towered over the Crusader now, ears pricked, nose twitching. The wolf knew. We all did. The damned were close. A shared glance with Lily conveyed our unspoken vow-we were in this together, come hell or high water. And by the looks of it, hell was just around the corner. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Everly Greywood has spent years battling what she believed to be schizophrenia, haunted by visions of terrifying creatures no one else can see. Just when she feels on the brink of losing her sanity, she's whisked away to a mystical spirit world where the truth becomes clear: the demons are real and so is God.

Rael Thorne was never meant to ascend. A rogue knight with a past as fractured as the illusions he wields, he has always been an outsider among the celestial warriors of Eden. But when the abyss comes for him, it does not take his life. Instead, it takes his heart. And yet... he still breathes. The divine halls of Valkyria Academy have fallen, overrun by an unfathomable darkness that Eden's warriors could not stop. Forced into exile, the surviving Archangels and Valkyrie knights retreat to Avalon, where druids weave life into the land itself. But even in the sanctuary of the wilds, Rael is an impossibility-a man who should be dead, carrying something unseen in the empty space where his heart once was. Something only the darkness can recognize. As whispers in a forgotten tongue begin to speak clearly in his mind, Rael realizes he is no longer the man he once was. The very warriors who once stood at his side now watch him with suspicion, none more than Aetheriel, the Frostbound Archangel, who believes Rael should have been executed the moment he survived. But even Aetheriel cannot deny the truth-Rael's survival was no accident. Something ancient has chosen him. Something terrible has already begun. And as Heralds of the abyss awaken, whispering of a prophecy long buried in time, Rael must answer the question that haunts them all: Was he spared to save Eden? Or to end it? A dark epic fantasy of celestial warfare, eldritch horror, and the thin line between fate and damnation. Fans of morally complex heroes, divine magic, and the creeping dread of the unknown will find themselves drawn into a world where light and darkness have never been more uncertain.
