Two months after her mother had been in a fatal car accident, Emma finds herself secluded from the world, with only herself and the empty music room that she fills with sweet melodies. When her best friend, Leah, starts acting strange, she will have to find comfort elsewhere; in the two boys she never thought she would confide in.
As Emma begins to pick up the pieces of herself, what will happen when you throw a third boy into the mix? Will he push her to shut everyone out again? Is she even ready to let anyone else in? Is all hope lost for this awkward, withdrawn, yet snarky and strong girl?
But more importantly, what will happen when the world discovers her own little secret?
NOTE: This story is rated PG-13 because of language (this is based in high school, people!) and for some abusive scenes. Just giving you a heads up :)

The Girl Who Made Life Worth Living
Finn has been the man of the house since he was a child. Simply surviving, he doesn't want any more responsibility than he's already burdened with at 18 - until he helps a mysterious abused girl he met near his new workplace. His caring and protective nature quickly brings her into his life but their budding relationship falls apart just as fast, until an incident and the subsequent events make them slowly come back together. Later, when Finn loses the only other thing he cares about in life he's faced with the choice of driving her away or being vulnerable enough to depend on her. Maybe she can finally make him feel taken care of back; the one thing that he's always truly needed. A more mature and healthy rewrite of a book I started writing when I was 14, inspired by the trashy, dramatic, emo love stories I was obsessed with on this platform a decade ago. I was dealing with a lot at the time so I came up with this book idea, where both main characters have dramatized aspects of myself in them, as a way to make myself feel lovable, so writing this now is a nostalgic and creative way of looking back, processing, and letting go of the emotions I was going through as an adolescent.
