Ireland's eyes flashed open, and she sat up. Beads of sweat ran down her face, as she scanned the room. A flash of light shined in her eyes, as she glanced at the gleaming metal bars in front of her. Ireland grit her teeth in frustration. The lab. I'm back at the lab, she thought, her hopes diminishing.

Ireland sighed, and layed back down. She used to think that being dead would be better than being like an animal in a cage, but after the crazy things she saw and felt in that dream... she just didn't know anymore. She slammed her fist against the floor of her cage, angrily.

Sounds of metal rang through the dark room, causing startled cries and moans to exit the other hybrid's mouths. They were scared. Just like Ireland was. So, she couldn't blame them. No one at the lab was safe. And no one ever would be.

Rise of the Crescent Moon door Egoulden
52 delen Compleet Voor volwassenen
When Josephine returned to her home town after the death of her parents she was prepared to take a job at the local hospital. She wasn't prepared to run head first into her werewolf mate. She spent her entire childhood as the wolfless daughter of an Alpha who thought his own Luna was weak for not having a wolf. He sacrificed his pack and the legacy of his bloodline to ensure power for himself. Now, it's up to Josephine and her Alpha, August, to save their entire pack, but they aren't prepared for the war they just joined. "Mr. August Hayes was responsible for the cinnamon rolls and the smell of fall spices. If it wasn't his intense body language or the burning gaze staring into my soul giving it away, it would have been those electric blue eyes. The same ones that stole my sleep. I gulped. Why me? I squirmed uncomfortably in front of the panel as Dr. Grace led me to my chair. She was eyeballing me with a look that told me I had to pull it together. I sat down and quickly crossed my legs, trying to make myself smaller. Nurse Kasey was smirking at me, giving me a knowing look. Great, another one. I sighed through my mouth, careful not to inhale anymore of his scent. I had to get it together. I couldn't be the doctor from New York City who strolled into Little Compton hospital and made herself look like a complete idiot. I plastered on a smile." I can hear nothing but the thudding of my heart beating wildly in my chest, the sounds of the sirens turning into white noise at the back of my mind. I back up until my spine connects with the elevator doors. I shiver as my bare arms come in contact with the cool metal. "Someone help me, please," I beg. The man stalks closer still. His eyes are fixed solely on me, unmoving, intense. His fists are clutched tightly against his sides, as though restraining himself in some way. Restraining himself from what, I don't want to know. The man stops only an arm's length away from me. I stare up at him with wide eyes, my lips parted in fear. I stand frozen, unable to move. I shut my eyes, turning my head away. Laboured breathing, the touch of fingertips on my bare shoulder, breath on my lips. A heavy, deep inhale. Slow exhale. A forehead against mine, shaky hands cupping the back of my neck, fingertips sliding into my red locks. My eyes open to meet the warmest pair of honey eyes. Cover by AnnaCharles16 #4 in ROMANCE? My eyes were literally glowing, there was no mistaking it. It was not a reflection of light, or any of the other excuses I had used or others had assumed. They were glowing a light sapphire blue color. It was not a bright glow, but it was definitely a glow. Glowing eyes were not normal. Okay, at this point I had to admit it, I was no longer normal. What was I then? For that, I had no answer [[Word count: 495,000]] Copyright August 2016. All Rights Reserved. Readers may not copy, alter, or steal this story.
