Gilbert is in his first year of college and is often picked on because of his appearance and way of speaking. One day in the cafeteria he hears the infamous "he's so weird no wonder his always alone" as always to realized they weren't talking about him but Ivan. Ivan was Russian and was also picked on cause of his appearance and the way he spoke. Which was one of the reasons why Gilbert wanted to be friends with him since they were in high school, but he was expected to since everyone else shone them. As they do become friends... could there be something other than friendship as well?
