What is an ideal worth?
This question will determine the fate of one elderly man as he stands before the Roman Senate alone in opposition of what he knows is wrong. Standing only with courage, he battles against men who seek his destruction, but still he voices the ideal that would otherwise be unnoticed.
In an gripping parallel to the modern times, To Stand Before the Senate examines over the course of three chapters what, when in the face of dangerous opposition, an ideal is really worth and the cost of standing beside it.
NOTE: The events that are undergone in this short story are loosely based off of true events that took place in the late BC/early AD, but the specifics are, for the most part, fictional.
