Purposes. 13 year old Asa Blume doesn't think he has one. And he doesn't exactly want one either. Asa would rather live under a rock, undisturbed and away from the noisy world and the family that doesn't want him. Young Asa is forced to come out of his shell when, by chance, runs into child actress and icon, Delilah Fischer. As the two begin an unlikely friendship, Asa learns of his Hebrew heritage from Delilah, and also of Delilah's not-so-beautiful life that is full of anger and violence. As he digs deeper into Delilah's past and is confronted with unfortunate family matters, Asa is thrown into the middle of a world he's never known before. A world, were he has a purpose, and a big one too.
