Each year at the end of November, all of Alaska's inhabitants are imposed to bid their farewells to the sun. It is acknowledged as the annual Thirty Days of Night. The land is submerged in a complete darkness, plunged into a treacherous month-long night where nightmares become reality. River is a lone wolf. After being exiled from her birth pack, she finds herself grounded in a nasty situation. The new-found twilight begins to take it's toll as she's left stranded in obscurity, blind and vulnerable while predators lurk behind the trees. She's scrawny and weak, born the runt and made a scapegoat. With no brute strength or skill, River is armed with nothing but hatred and violence from her yore. Yet she is determined to outlive this darkness, willing to take her chances to triumph. She's going to survive. And she'll do it alone. ▬▬▬▬ ➵ Includes gore and graphic violence that may not be suitable for everyone. This was a work written when I was 12 on my old account, @the-lonely-wolf. The writing is still choppy and unedited, so I apologize in advance! [ 05.12.2014 ]

Aw the werewolf tales, the wondrous stories of two mates locking eyes & the rest is history. Well take that story elsewhere because twenty-one year old Grey isn't interested and hasn't been interested since she broke her own bond three years ago. Since her departure from her pack she's traveled the world, becoming a successful photographer in the process. Never has she looked back and regretted breaking her bond before her mate even knew it existed. When her Grandmother Alora however calls her home to speak one last time before her expected death, Grey feels compelled to return home. She figures as long as she stays clear of her would-have-been mate, she'll be fine. But of course that's not what either the moon goddess or Alora has planned for Grey and when Grey's mate finds out the truth, she's forced to compromise with him. Let him go with her on her next assignment so they can see if something still exists between them even without the bond. It's a compromise Grey doesn't even want to consider, but seeing as she ghosted him three years ago, she feels guilted into letting him go. He hopes to change her mind about them while she is resolute to remain alone. With a road trip stretching before them, they're both haunted by the questions of: 'what if?' And 'what now?' Will Grey give into the bond she broke all those years ago? Or will she forever remain a lone wolf?
