Donnie's Ranting Mind: Stolen Love (1)
Donnie is Non-Binary. That would normally be fine, but a new side of their life is starting to get in the way of coming out. This "new side" is named Brandon Carter, a human boy.
Donnie met Brandon when he was 15 & they were 14, a year before the Shredder incident. Brandon is the one that helped Donatello realize they were Non-Binary when they were 16 & he was 17, just after the Kraang incident.
Brandon had opened a whole new world to them.
Now, Brandon is 22 years old & Donatello is 21 years old. Donatello is out to April, Leo, & Splinter. And that's it. Donatello is petrified to come out to Raphael, Michelangelo, Casey & Vern.
They shouldn't be so anxious since they've known their brothers since they were literal infants & they've known Casey & Vern for as long as they've known April.
Brandon isn't making the situation any better, either. Donatello finds it awfully hard to focus on themself when they keep thinking of Brandon.
Until Brandon & other Civilians get captured by the Foot Clan, led by Master Karai & Doctor Stockman. Karai & Stockman reveal that the civilians are to be test subjects for a new virus-like recreation of the mutagen.
Vincent gives Donnie a lead (but they already knew). When the turtles find the place, they are able to save the civilians with help from April, Casey, & Vern.
The Foot Clan then bomb the building. But Brandon is still trapped in his containment unit.
Leo tries to get Donnie to leave, but they can't leave Brandon. They find a way to hack into the system & disconnect a weakening Brandon from the tubing, but he is still in the cage. Donnie is able to break it & holds Brandon close as the building collapses around them.
They both make it out alive, & they are scared to lose Brandon again. Which leads them to reveal their newest project: an engagement ring.
Then, Leo asks why Donnie risked their life for Brandon. That's when Donnie reveals that they are non-binary & that they've been dating Brandon in the first place.
