Hundreds of years after the Great World War, America is a distant memory. In the ashes, new civilizations have risen up from the Wilds. Locke's Coalition and Liberty Kingdom, bitter enemies, have been at peace for seven years. War is never far from politicians' minds, though, especially when one is the tyrant Archduke Goldwater. For all of human kinds' positive traits, the character flaws of corruption, greed, anger, and revenge are etched into our DNA.
In the new world, little technology remains and advanced weapons are in short supply, but today's soldiers fight with innate power. They fight with Talent... the psionic powers that develop in a random few.
A young Coalition citizen, Jaden Stone, dreams of graduating, having fun, and falling in love. As if his hard-nosed uncle, schoolyard bullies, and exams weren't hard enough to handle, he discovers that he wields Talent. He'd now be forced to serve in the military, forced to train and fight, all for an organization that killed his parents.
Will Jaden work hard for his people or will his desire for leisure win over? He's forced to decide when a tragedy shakes his core.

It's been five years since the plague struck. Leah knows there are other survivors, but she's avoiding them. She is doing just fine on her own. Surviving after everyone she knew died has made her physically strong and honed her intelligence, but she is emotionally devastated. There is nothing to fear if you don't make yourself emotionally vulnerable. James has spent the last five years helping to build up a colony of survivors. He believes in the small town they have populated and its mission to save humanity from extinction. He and his small team of men find scattered people and bring them in. Over the last two centuries, women have fought for and won more and more rights, gaining equality with men. Society, law, and technology bolsters and enforces these rights, but now they are gone. Women's equality with men is over. There are just too few of them. They aren't lesser but greater, more important, more valuable than men. Men are expendable. Men can stay outside alone if they like, but all women must be brought inside the safety of the Colony and properly taken care of. James has been searching the area Leah lives in. Her time of solitude is up. Leah sparks something in James he's never felt before. He's not letting this one get away, certainly not twice. Warning: Contains sex, some violence, occasional foul language, and adult issues. Genre: Science Fiction, Romance, Post-apocalyptic, Dark romance Length: 84,468 words This book has been published on Amazon. The first ten chapters will be updated to what you get in the published novel and will remain here, so you can try before you buy.

But as he battles to stay grounded amidst the chaos, a faint pulse of life beneath the wreckage forces him to confront the past he's tried to bury. Twists and turns lurk at every corner, leading readers down a path where the boundaries between justice and revenge blur, and where the truth is darker than anyone could imagine. This novel promises a gripping, heart-pounding journey through the mind of a man haunted by his own demons, as he chases a shadow that may hold the key to his redemption-or his ultimate downfall. With each page, the tension escalates, drawing readers deeper into a world where nothing is as it seems, and the real terror lies not in the destruction around them, but in the ghosts that haunt their every move. Prepare for a thrilling ride filled with shocking revelations, emotional turmoil, and a thirst for justice that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page. The darkness is just beginning, and the twists that lie ahead will leave you breathless.
