Magic isn't real. Everybody knows that.

Thing is, what everybody knows is wrong.

Magic isn't special, any idiot can do it. And that's why it needs to be kept secret. If for no other reason than to keep the world from destroying itself.

Again.

Set in the modern day, and the real world, Catalyst delves into a hidden universe of thaumaturgic intrigue and tells the story of a magic fuelled cold war that has been raging for over 2000 years.

There is no good in this world, and no evil. Only different opinions.

😈😈the Beginning of aetheria 😈👿 by Austen010

Prologue: The Beginning of Aetheria Long before time as we know it, the cosmos trembled under the weight of the Celestial War-a conflict so devastating it consumed entire worlds. In the aftermath of this chaos, a sanctuary was forged by the surviving celestial beings: Aetheria, a realm of boundless magic, mystery, and power. Created as a haven, Aetheria became a world of unparalleled beauty, inhabited by diverse races: the ethereal Elvari, the mighty Drakenkin, and the cunning Umbrians, among others. Each brought their strengths and secrets to this realm, weaving its intricate tapestry. But peace was fleeting. The Void, a remnant of the Celestial War, seeped into Aetheria, corrupting its heart. To combat this, the ancient guardians forged powerful Shards of Light, fragments capable of sealing the Void's influence. Yet, over millennia, the shards were scattered, their power waning as darkness grew. Prophecy whispered of a being-a descendant of Adam, forbidden in this realm-who would wield the shards and either restore balance or bring ruin. For Aetheria's denizens, humanity was both hope and doom, their mere presence a threat to the realm's fragile existence. Now, as darkness encroaches once more, the stage is set. A nameless human emerges, lost and unknowing, drawn into a destiny shaped by ancient powers and unyielding prophecy. The question lingers: Will he save Aetheria-or be its undoing? Thus begins the tale of the beginning of Aetheria, where fate and free will collide in a battle for the soul of a world.

❅| "Even a vastness can no longer shelter you... or engulf your dream." ⊱⋅ ──────────── ⋅⊰ [UNDER EDITING/REDRAFTING - latest chapter: 8] To a world seemingly shrouded in a cloak of safety and eternal peace, death is an unimaginable concept. Yet for those whose rule of life was mere survival, perhaps that's a different situation. For those who stood in the face of adversity, for those who refused to give in to the castigation of their lives, life has no sweetness to it. Merely the bitter tang of a blood-chilling revenge. To avenge a loved one or perhaps even their own pain, the murderous intent behind their deceitful eyes is unmistakable. For to them, lamenting about the past is a life lost to the cruel hands of fate. What happens when a woman as brilliant as the morning sun provides a haven in one's dreams? What happens when she, despite the agonies life carried, says to abandon everything right here and now and leave? Alcestis did not need to be told twice. Seizing the chance to escape the horrible clutches of her grandparents, she sets out on a journey to find the Elementals - a band of heroes protecting the human realm from those that lied beyond, headed by her parents. She knew of the darkness that festered within her; she knew of the hatred that danced in her heart. More than anything, she knew the extents of how fragmented her soul was. What, perhaps, would unfold when she sets out on her journey, leaving behind the world she knew; leaving behind what hopefulness remained in her battered heart? None would heed her an answer, indeed. None save for the rage that tainted her being.

Many centuries ago, an unspoken darkness swept across the land taking all that was light and pure in the world with it. Creatures of this darkness roamed free to spread the darkness wherever they went consuming any trace of light remaining. In order to stop The Darkness from controlling the world, a group of priests took the remaining pieces of light and placed them within the body of two chosen children. They became known as the Children of the Light. Their sacrifice was not in vain, leaving behind spoken words for the next generation of children born with the pure light energy within them. Over time an organisation built on these words was formed called The Guardians, who were tasked to seek out the next chosen children and protect them from The Darkness should it rise again. Centuries have come and gone as the battle between the light and the darkness still rages on, unaware of the human race that creatures live among them and that a battle between them and the guardians has gone on for many years. Chronicles of Alora: Stargazer

15 parts Ongoing

Beneath a sky stitched with constellations and secrets, three girls were born on the same winter night-a princess cloaked in shadow, a conqueror wrapped in flame, and a light-bearer destined to scatter the darkness. Each carries a thread of an ancient prophecy, their fates bound to the future of the kingdom and the balance of a world teetering on the edge of ruin. Eve knows nothing of this prophecy. Growing up in the quiet mountain village of Starling Hollow, her life has been shaped by whispered tales of the Fae, restless dreams, and a gnawing sense of not quite belonging. But when glowing lights begin to call her into the ancient Aurorian Forest, Eve discovers the truth: she is not who she thinks she is. Stolen as a child and stripped of her memories, Eve is Alora-the light-bearer of prophecy. And the Fae, long thought to be extinct, are waiting for her return. Guided by visions and whispers of the past, Eve must navigate a fractured kingdom, unravel the mystery of her stolen identity, and reclaim the power hidden within. But not all lights shine for good, and not all who seek her mean her well. The path to the Vale of the Fairies is treacherous, and the choices she makes will determine not only her fate, but the fate of the entire kingdom. In a world where stars hold secrets, forests whisper names, and magic is both a gift and a curse, Eve must decide: will she follow the light, or be consumed by the shadows?
