After Chris' famous "conscious uncoupling" from Gwyneth he is an emotional mess. But not for the reason everyone thinks. Chris will never tell anyone the true reason for his split from his wife though, he could never do that.
The only thing that gives Chris a spark of hope is writing music. But his bandmates are getting more and more worried about him as it's been months since Chris' split and he doesn't seem to get any better.
Eventually Chris' bad emotional state turns out to be a threat for the entire band.
Chris knows the only way to end his pain is to reveal the truth, but that is a really hard thing to do. After all the truth could mean the breakdown of everything that is important to him.

[this was written when I was a young teen. I'm sorry] Just a Buckin fanfic. Also, my first story. It does have a happy ending. After a devastating fight on Christmas Eve, Chris left London and took refuge in his New York flat. He thought that this Christmas was gonna be his loneliest, that he wouldn't have anybody with him to share his thoughts and feelings. He thought that he deserved to die. He was wrong. Through a series of almost impossible incidents, he rediscovers forgotten memories and their significance in shaping his life, with the help of a mysterious green eyed lady. Thousands of thoughts cloud his mind, and hundreds of feelings sweep over him. The pain becomes unbearable. But every cloud has a silver lining. Everyone has a reason to live. One night during the tour, a strange man appears at their show, and it wasn't until the end of the show that the band really started worrying him. He showed a general dislike of the band, and just as they were taking their bows, a strange ball of light appeared, and it was quickly moving in Chris' direction. What is that strange ball of light?
