Durante un verano en la playa, el joven Draco Malfoy conoce a una rara niña de salvaje cabellera castaña y grandes ojos marrones que lo saca de quicio, pero al mismo tiempo despierta su interés. Entablan una extraña relación de lo que podría llamarse amistad y prometen volver a verse. Ella no vuelve a presentarse, logrando así que el pequeño entierre sus recuerdos en algún lugar de su memoria.
Años después, al entrar a su primer año en Hogwarts, grande es su sorpresa al encontrarse con esa misma niña desquiciante que, al parecer conserva tan pocos recuerdos de ese verano cómo él.
Ese reencuentro les provocará varios problemas y dolores de cabeza. Sus personalidades chocan y los insultos no se hacen esperar, pero por alguna razón no pueden evitarse atraídos, realidad que tratan de negar rotundamente, pero que, con el tiempo se hace cada vez más fuerte.
¿Cuánto tiempo tomará antes de que caiga esa farsa enemistad y se transforme en... qué?
