"You Zero Rose Hathaway have been charged with the brutal killings." I found Darren in the 5th row staring at me with anger in his eyes but I knew they weren't meant for me. "Of Jacob Coon, Mason Baker, Olivia Ashby, Sage Fuller, Carmen May, Natasha Normand and Dean Roberts." He mouthed it's going to be okay and I gave him a weak smile knowing that it wouldn't. "You will be sentenced to 35 whippings. 5 for each person you have killed." Darren's straight face faltered, he tried to hide his surprise but I caught it. Everyone was shocked including me.
The first five take the skin off your back.
The next five, make you wish they just put a bullet in your head.
One guy three years ago got sentenced to 15. He was one of the strongest and fittest guard in town. He was the King's head guard. He lost consciousness at 13 and died before the beating was complete.
