It's a tale as old as time itself.
Bully bullies bullied. Bullied becomes sad and suicidal. Bullied uncovers bully's wound. Bully and bullied become friends. And they live happily ever after.
But, those are lies.
In this world, it is not so. In this world, the bullied becomes the bully and the ones he bullies turn up dead.
Nathan Thorne is being bullied. But he's too caught up in life to even stand up for himself. After his house burnt down last year, he's never been the same. And just when he thought life couldn't get any worse, a major curveball is thrown at him, and behold ten times the bullying.
When his entire family vanishes off the face of the earth, morbidity is stricken to his reputation and doubt overwhelmes his character. People become intimidated by him and feel threatened, and so they bully him, more than before.
But then, as the heat rises, and the death count of New Mayville City increases, he is overhauled into the mysterious life of Bella and Caleb Hastings.
In a way, these two are his twin knights in shining armor, and will do anything to protect him.
Or so it seems.
There are little anonymities in the everyday life of people we don't know. Often they become overwhelming. But when a boy who suffers from thanatophobia (what we call the fear of death) becomes the one that pulls the trigger and immediately kills himself, we know for a fact that things are more than a little obscure.
Little Obscurities.
