She grows close to them and soon becomes very good friends with them, maybe even more than friends with one of them. On top of that, Layla notice that she's been able to control darkness. Is it a gift or curse?

He's a mutant too, and has been treated differently his whole life because of the way he looks. The best day of his life was coming to the institute and getting the hologram that hides the way he really looks so he can finally look like everyone else. But when the newest student comes to the school, he finds himself judging her by looks too. Until she pushes him into showing her his true appearance and marks his life as the first person to ever tell him that he looks better without the hologram. Then, as promised, she shows him what she really looks like and he falls for her. Too bad there's only two trimesters left of his senior year before he graduates. Will Kurt be able to pull Kerri out of her shell before he graduates and has to find what to do next with his life? And what about the pressures of high school and the anti mutant society that are always there at the edge of their life?

They also found out very quickly enough to their pleasure, after accidents around the school, that by combining their gifts of their specific elements to hers, that they could create something even more powerful then what they already had on their own. Sierra was not one to scare easily, especially not when it came to being snuck up on, but there is one thing that has always scared her, and that always will scare her. Losing the acceptance of her family. Human or Mutant Normal or Different The only thing Sierra ever wanted, was a family. Book One in the [Elemental Series] I own nothing in this book except for the plotlines revolvin' around Sierra that don't appear in the movies or the comics.
