Alex has always been different. At least as long as she can remember. She grew up with a druggie mother who never cared about anyone but herself. The only person she could trust was her best friend Skylar. Skylar was the only person in her life that cared. But even he didn't know some of Alex's deepest secrets. Alex struggled with self harm and depression. Things seemed to be getting worse day by day. But suddenly everything changed. Her mother is taken away for her drug addict ways. Alex is forced to leave her entire life behind and travel all the way to California. She stays with her foster parents Chasity and James. As she lives her new life in California she encounters a boy named Dakota. Alex adores everything about him. But he isn't what she thought he would be. It's too late to turn back now. Their love is unbreakable but it seems impossible....
