Makayla Rosen was 15 when diagnosed with Cyclothymia.
She had always known she was a bit different from her friends, often getting made fun of and ridiculed for her crazy mood swings. 
She lost most of her friends by 16.
The only person that she ever really associated with after that, besides some of her family, was an 17 year old male she had met in group therapy: Wesley Phillips. 
Minus his Schizoid disorder, he seemed to be the best thing that she had until one day, when Makayla's depression had gotten way out of hand, she broke. Unable to control her erratic emotions, she runs to hide in the woods, to get away from it all. 

And that is where our story begins.

She was born with a rare form of Congenital Insensitivity to Pain and was unable to feel physical pain, so she never complained about something as simple as a paper cut or a stubbed toe since her brain didn't register it. She was diagnosed with anxiety and bipolar I disorder around that time as well and that's when her life was going 'downhill'. Over the years, she was also diagnosed with parasomnia, ADHD, paranoid personality disorder, and acute stress disorder. Needless to say she had more prescriptions than she chose to mention to anyone except for the people that already knew, and even then, she didn't talk about her mental illnesses, which her friends understood and complied with. After her mother left her, Katherine and George Walter took her in, having basically watched her grow up since Katherine and Lauren had known each other for as long as anyone remembered...until she up and left her only daughter behind that is. Nicolette moved in with them when she was nine and was practically raised alongside the Walter kids, as well as the Garcia boys when they moved in as well. She'd managed to get her life, and her mental illnesses, in order just when things in her life changed once more.
