It all started with a boom. The one that meant his time was up. That he'd not only willingly sacrificed his life but the lives of his team members knowing full well they wouldn't come out alive. Waking up from that nightmare and finding out it was nothing more than an illusion his mind created, brought him both relief, knowing his friends lived and guilt upon realizing he would do it again if need be. Not for the world, but to become the perfect Batman that would sacrifice everything for the mission. So he ran, far away from his shame and hid from the guilt. And that's how it all ended. With a clown and instruments of torture that both existed to bring him more pain to further break his already fragile mind. So when the fire came during the time he was so high on laughing gas he could no longer tell reality from the nightmares that plagued his mind he welcomed death with open arms. Except it didn't end that night, not the way he thought. Instead of dying he was reborn .

Tim doesn't plan on talking with Jason when he goes to crime alley, because why on Earth would Red Hood be there, right? ("Stupid fucker" Tim thinks looking back) That was mistake number one. Mistake number two is actually pouring out his emotions to Jason about his family (Like how much he hates Bruce). His third mistake was not turning off his tracker which led to a very awkward confrontation the next day at work. The first mistake started the whole situation and fucked up his life in a bad and good way (he guesses it had something to do with how sad and lonely he was before Jason came in like a wrecking ball). Realistically he knows that he could've handled the whole situation better, but what's the fun in that? It's way more interesting to become friends with the guy you replaced, used to have a crush on and stalked BETRAYING Bruce. To add to that he gets so high that he forgets his feelings until forever. Procrastination at its finest. The best part (but Tim's least favorite part) is that everyone knew about his feelings that he himself didn't know, but they were completely oblivious to how much he was hurting, except Jason. Funny how life works, huh?
