Anastasia is honestly just trying to get through the torture that is highschool. Her daily norms consist of fretting over her GPA and what colleges she can afford... Until she's placed in a 'college prep' program that isnt what it seems. Everyone stares at her like she's a bomb set to explode, including her best friends. She's also starting to do things she shouldn't be able to. Just when things can't seem to get any weirder, the most popular guy in school (who she happens to hate) starts to show an interest her.
James has it good. He's popular, gorgeous, smart and funny. I guess you could say his only fatal flaw is he isn't human. Well, actually if you know how society ACTUALLY functions, that's considered a good thing too.
He's practically royalty and has never had a serious responsibility in his life; Until his role as a Guardian is activated and he's forced to look after one of the most frustrating humans he's ever met.

Surprisingly, Simone, a total stranger comes to his rescue and let's him hide out at her place, despite how it's destined not to work. Put together a man with a bounty on his head, a woman with too much to lose, throw in a healthy dose of trauma, teenagers, toddlers, sharing a bed with a stranger and you're bound to have a royal mess. Let's not forget the most important part, they can't fall for each other because that just takes the stakes up, you don't just wake up and get attracted to an assassin so you can be used as mafia bait, basically destined not to work. That's what this is, a mess that shouldn't work. But it does. And everything goes to shit because of it. A story about love, assassination, family and healing from trauma.Complete
