Esther's life used to be okay. Her life used to include a father, a mother and three siblings. But that changed, and her past happiness is only a memory. Esther is Jewish, and when her father does something incredibly brave (and stupid) to save innocent people being beaten by the government, he is executed. They are after her and her family now. She has been to seven countries, but the G.P.A ( government protection agency) always seem to find her and her family. When her remaining family manages to escape into New Zealand, all Esther wants is for her life to be normal. And for it all to end. Can Esther keep her family safe, outwit the G.P.A, and not suffer her father's fate?

But after a few years, Geoff starts suffering a mid-death crisis. What's the purpose of going through the motions as a skeleton if you can't really live? Then he gets word that his cat, Bernie, just died and he can collect him and bring him home!
