Lyla and Taylor grew up together. They hung out 24/7 and never did anything without each other. But when Lyla is forced to move away, their last night together is bittersweet, and their communication dies completely. Over the next five years they suffer alone, going through changes both within themselves and their lives in general. Until one day, Lyla gets a call from her cousin and mutual friend of theirs, granting a glimmer of hope for them both. Hopping on the next flight from Logan Airport, she returns to a changed Washington. Will Taylor accept her with open arms? Will they still mesh as they did in their youth? Or have they changed too much to sustain a relationship?
