In the timeline of xxxx, Earth was close to unlivable. Its terrain was hazardous, the chemicals from all over the years creating a land cannot be trod by fragile feet. Mutants and beasts spiralled out of control as they roamed the dangerous battlefield. Death rate of humans are at its peak as many victims get eaten every day. The climate changes in a constant pace, eliminating people. The air was poisonous on some areas, toxic even.
This epidemia left the remaining humans to pursue their research against these conditions.
The new age of humanity consisted of three groups. First, the mad scientists pushed to the brink of their sanity, madness waiting for them below. The restless humans who fight against the death that comes, taking a sliver of their lives day by day. And the rest are the scavengers which consisted the fewest percentage of the remaining population, hunting for food as they pushed through to live through the cruelty of their new villain, nature. Only two ways to survive exist. To kill or be killed. Which path do you take? Where are your coordinates on this grand evil scheme of reality?

The earth has been ravaged by war, and all that is left of humanity is on an iron island out in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. It was a paradise, because on Olympus, they were gods, or so they were made to believe. The inhabitants of Olympus were untouchable, beyond simple human desires like greed, hate and violence. Unfortunately for them, they seemed to have incurred the wrath of actual gods, nightmares, and monsters. And so, they have been forced to flee their 'heaven' for greener pastures, but before then, they'll have to pass through hell. Monsters, demons, nightmares and gods are only supposed to exist in the world of imagination, and that's exactly where they came from. Back by popular request! The 2017 rough draft of The Virus Within! (Caution: Contains massive plotholes that were fixed in the polished The Virus Within Series. Grammar issues are present, particularly missing commas.) What do you do when you are one of the infected? The virus in my blood is trying to steal my humanity. It alters my very thoughts and reactions. It taunts me by tempting me with desires that it planted in my brain. These bloodthirsty desires would lead to my demise if I ever gave in. I have more in common with the zombies than with humans at this point. Even the fallen zombies accept me as one of their own. Blood is required to retain my grip on sanity, but the sweet-smelling blood from humans is a short path to madness. Human blood is to be avoided at all costs. Humankind around the world was driven close to extinction by the sudden appearance of the zombies, yet small groups of survivors constantly manage to appear and put my control to the test. -------------------------- This is a standalone zombie book. It has nothing to do with A Different Virus. I wanted to try a book with an easily irritated main character and a nutcase secondary character. A stone path of painted gold snakes its way around impassable stalactites tipped with silver snow and slowly makes its way across the forest on its path to the city. It's been ten years since the fall of humanity. I was only ten years old when the zombies took over. The military told us to flee underground, explaining that it was safer. The zombies are smart, too smart. They can learn to hide themselves. Some of them disguise themselves to look like normal people. We tell them apart by checking their eyes. Zombies have enlarged pupils compared to humans.
