H. L. Clarke Academy for the Arts is one of the most prestigious and competitive art-centered high schools in the country. The program educates and accommodates only the best and most talented students across the continent. It will be the what makes or break the next generation's brightest performers.
Music, Drama, Dance, Visual Arts and all of the smaller programs within are faced with a shock on the very first day: The faculty requires a budget cut on one of the programs, hoping to save some cash and even instill a bit of friendly competition. But when it comes to the performance industry, there's nothing friendly about any kind of competition.
Rivalries spark and tension disperses itself, leaving every major to fend for themselves, while others scrounge for alliances and temporary armistices.
From the point of view of two very different music majors, take a peek into their worlds of secret societies, truces and treaties.
Of betrayals that poison the already toxic environment.
        Of sabotage and secret meetings.
Of the romantic drama that follows musicians like a plague.
And lastly, of the music that connects them all.

Melody's Crush by AloraDillon
32 parts Complete
Aren't one sided crushes fun? NOT! 18 year old Melody Jenkins has spent the last 3 years of high school crushing on one guy, Jake Kensington, who sees her as no more than a sister from another mister and best friend. Not wanting to risk their friendship, Melody has kept her crush a secret and her emotions in check whenever she's around him... which is daily since they live on the same property. It's her senior year and she has made it through the past three years of high school with little social psychological trauma. That's excellent considering she goes to a school in Los Angeles where the majority of the bored students graduating will have executive paying jobs the moment they walk across stage. If all goes well, she will graduate as the valedictorian with multiple offers from colleges on the East Coast, far away from California. But when the health teacher announces a "special" project that requires students to be paired and live under the same roof for one week, Melody's world gets completely turned upside down. She is forced to spend time with someone totally opposite of her and frankly, she can't stand... or so she thought. One night of catching a glimpse of the softer side of Kyle Warner, the school's most popular and arrogant quarterback, has her heart pounding and her stomach doing flip-flops. But when Melody shows an ounce of affection toward Kyle, Jake discovers feelings of his own as he tries to protect his best friend from the guy he knows Kyle can be. As the project comes to an end, Melody goes to homecoming... will it be a night to remember, forget or both? Be advised, this contemporary Teen / Young Adult Romance story has some strong language and strong sexual connotation.

~some things you just can't speak about.~ // hazel eloise finley's old english and frankly quite pretentious name was never released to public whenever she survived the shooting at her high school. not even after the paramedics took her away with a severe bullet wound to the calf or even whenever she drug and hopped herself outside for medical attention afterwards either. only known as the jane doe that survived a school shooting, and the years of physical therapy, permanent nerve damage and chronic pain proved to be the least of her worries. it took years of therapy, hospitalizations, and prescriptions for her to even feel ready to start college after high school. and whenever she did, much like her name, she was determined to bury it. despite the trauma she went on to become one of the most gifted music majors enrolled at the prestigious university in Nashville, TN, an honors student, a residential advisor, and slowly making her way to the student council someday. Though just coming into her sophomore year, a heavily tattooed literature major transfers into the room across from hers that throws everything off track. Julien Rose Baker infuriated her at first, not only because her friends and roommates were loud and obnoxious and stayed up all hours of the night playing loud music and probably doing anything but studying, but because she was better than her, in every sense of the word. sight reading music without missing a beat or a note, shredding her guitar in nearly every practice room, leaving most professors in awe of her vocal range, and not to mention the writings of hers read during some of the english classes the two shared. it was jealousy at its finest. though whenever an unexpected turn of events leaves hazel almost having no choice but to be vulnerable, something else besides avoiding her dorm neighbor might turn into something else. ~ TW for gun violence, ptsd, anxiety, depression, etc...
