Mature
Adeline Parker had religion shoved down her throat her whole life. Even when she turned eighteen, her mom sent her off to a church camp. Adeline was content with being miserable and dealing with it. But that all changed when she meets the dark and charming, Asher McEver. He was different than what Adeline was used to. He was rude and cocky, but he didn't seem to shove religion in her face like everyone in her life had always done. The only problem was, he was the guitar player for the camps band.

~some things you just can't speak about.~ // hazel eloise finley's old english and frankly quite pretentious name was never released to public whenever she survived the shooting at her high school. not even after the paramedics took her away with a severe bullet wound to the calf or even whenever she drug and hopped herself outside for medical attention afterwards either. only known as the jane doe that survived a school shooting, and the years of physical therapy, permanent nerve damage and chronic pain proved to be the least of her worries. it took years of therapy, hospitalizations, and prescriptions for her to even feel ready to start college after high school. and whenever she did, much like her name, she was determined to bury it. despite the trauma she went on to become one of the most gifted music majors enrolled at the prestigious university in Nashville, TN, an honors student, a residential advisor, and slowly making her way to the student council someday. Though just coming into her sophomore year, a heavily tattooed literature major transfers into the room across from hers that throws everything off track. Julien Rose Baker infuriated her at first, not only because her friends and roommates were loud and obnoxious and stayed up all hours of the night playing loud music and probably doing anything but studying, but because she was better than her, in every sense of the word. sight reading music without missing a beat or a note, shredding her guitar in nearly every practice room, leaving most professors in awe of her vocal range, and not to mention the writings of hers read during some of the english classes the two shared. it was jealousy at its finest. though whenever an unexpected turn of events leaves hazel almost having no choice but to be vulnerable, something else besides avoiding her dorm neighbor might turn into something else. ~ TW for gun violence, ptsd, anxiety, depression, etc...

Paisley and John Evergreen have been riding in the same boat for a long time, living with their violent parents for all of their lives, left with nothing but each-other. Paisley believes she is only a whole person when he is with her. They protected each other from all of the evil presented. What happens when that gets taken away? What happens if you find someone who can fix it, but you don't know how to let them in? What if things can never be the same? How can she accept what has happened? Can she move on? Can she survive? Or is something holding her back: Something giving her hope to move forward.
