Crime has been a part of everyday life for Jae Darlington since she was brought into the world.
Her mother was an alcoholic, and she didn't know who her father was. Nor did her mother. Aside from all the pain she went through in life, she never gave up.
What is it she never gave up on? Living, of course.
Luckily at the age of eighteen she got a scholarship to Riverton College, only two hours from her home in Las Vegas.
Only to be brought back to identify the body of her mother.
People change many times in life, but Jae, determined to not let her mothers death go out the door, changed for the good. After a year in college she wanted justice for her mother.
And that brings us to the now.
She has opened her own business. Not a typical business either. She finds answers. Answers other people can't reach. Going out on limbs and breaking all kinds of rules. Rules that ex marine Thomas Steele likes to enforce.
But when you are on the case of a fifty year long mystery, rules go flying out the door. Especially when you accidentally end up as a serial killers next target.
