"Phil, we've got a case," Dan said.
Phil asked, "What kind?"
"Kidnapping. Thirteen young girls kidnapped, tortured, and dumped," Dan muttered.
Phil opened his mouth, speaking in a hardened tone, "Well, let's go-"
"Partner," Dan smirked.
"Partner," Phil replied.

Dan and Phil are agents for the FBI.
Phil prefers to work alone, yet tolerates his partner's, Dan's, assistance on cases. Phil is quite socially inept. The reason? He's mildly sociopathic.. In fact, he relies on Dan entirely. The two are well-experienced. They work well together and have solved hundreds of cases, with few remaining unsolved. But when a case goes wrong and Dan falls into danger, can Phil save him?

Dan, also known as Agent Ten, just lost his greatest mentor, and has been sent on what he's been told will be an extremely difficult mission to perform an assassination. His job is to meet, study, and assassinate Phillip Lester. When Dan finds his target introducing himself to Dan, Dan begins to think that this will be his easiest assassin to date...That is, until all of his assassination attempts fail.
