Emma Nicholls has always seen things better through the lense of a camera. Determined to make a name for herself in the city of her dreams, L.A., she moves out to live with best friend for a gap year between high school and college under the condition that if it doesn't work out she'll move back to Massachusetts with her family, which is pretty much the end of life as she knows it.

When up-and-coming director Harley Madison shows up in her camera Emma starts a relationship that began under the influence of ambition,but finds herself falling for him. Can Harley fulfill Emma's dream before it's too late? Or will her life be anything but picture perfect?
